What we fix, and what it costs

Leaks and burst pipes
Water on the floor, a ring spreading on the ceiling, or a meter that turns with every tap shut. We find it, cut out the bad run and put in copper or PEX. Most are done in one visit.

Clogged drains and toilets
A sink that drains slow, a toilet that rises when you flush, a tub holding water. Cleared with a snake or a machine, and we tell you if it’s likely to come back.

Water heaters
No hot water, a rumble when it heats, rust in the tap. A thermostat or an element is $180. A new 50-gallon gas tank, permitted, fitted and the old one hauled away, is from $1,850, and it’s usually in the same day.

Main sewer line
Every drain backing up at once, usually into the basement floor drain. We clear the line, run a camera down it and show you the video before anyone mentions digging.

Sump pumps
A pit that fills and a pump that won’t kick on, or one past seven years old. A new pump with a battery backup and a high-water alarm, so a spring storm doesn’t flood the basement.

No heat, a boiler that bangs, or a furnace that short-cycles, gas or oil. A fall tune-up is $149; repairs are priced on the spot, before we start.

You call, and one of us answers
Erin picks up from 7 to 6 on weekdays and 8 to 2 on Saturdays. At night the phone rings through to whoever’s on call, and they ring you back within 15 minutes.

A flat price before we start
We look at the job and give you one number, and it doesn’t change once you’ve said yes. There’s no trip fee in working hours; after hours it’s $125, and we tell you on the phone.

Boot covers and drop cloths, then the work
Most repairs take an hour or two, and a water heater two to three. We clean up and take the old parts with us.

Two years on what we did
If a repair of ours fails in that time, we come back and fix it free.
